In existing situations it is not always possible or desirable to switch to an all-electric heat pump. The Aurea Hybrid add-on is a good interim solution to save gas and make it more sustainable. By adding an Aurea 5 R32 heat pump with the intelligent Hybrid add-on control box and a smart Anna thermostat to the existing central heating system, you maintain your comfort, generate a drastic reduction in CO₂ emissions and save significantly on energy costs.

The most compact solution
The Aurea Hybrid add-on does not have an indoor unit, which means that the central heating boiler does not have to be moved and the space in the home is preserved. The Aurea Hybrid add-on can be installed without the need for f-gas or cooling operations. The circulation pump, safety valve and automatic venting valve are located in the outdoor unit. All necessary hydraulic components are supplied as standard, as is a smart thermostat.

How does the system work?
The Aurea Hybrid add-on can be connected to all modulating and on/off controlled central heating boilers. The system consists of three main components: the Aurea 5 R32 heat pump, the Hybrid add-on control box and the Anna thermostat. In this hybrid setup, the central heating boiler and heat pump are used efficiently on the aspects in which they are both strong. The central heating boiler brings the house up to temperature in the early morning (short high energy demand), after which the heat pump takes over to keep the house at the right temperature during the day (constant low energy demand).

At outside temperatures above 4°C, the heat pump will provide comfortable heat in your home. Your CO₂ emissions and gas consumption are greatly reduced. At temperatures below 4°C or heat demand above 55°C, the gas boiler takes over, ensuring comfort. The central heating boiler also provides hot tap water so that you can bathe and shower without any worries. With the smart Anna thermostat you can perfectly tailor your hybrid system to your comfort needs.
