In existing setups, it is not always possible or desirable to switch to an all-electric heat pump. The Aurea Hybrid Add-On is a good intermediate solution for saving gas and making the system more sustainable. By adding an Aurea 5 R32 heat pump with the intelligent Hybrid Add-On control box and a smart Anna thermostat to your existing heating system, you maintain comfort, drastically reduce CO2 emissions, and save significantly on energy costs.
The most compact solution
The Aurea Hybrid Add-On does not require an indoor unit, meaning the boiler does not need to be moved, and space in the home is preserved. It can be installed without the need for refrigerant or cooling-related work. The circulation pump, safety valve, and automatic air vent are included in the outdoor unit. All necessary hydraulic components are included by default, along with a smart thermostat.
How does the system work?
The Aurea Hybrid Add-On can be connected to all modulating and on/off controlled boilers. The system consists of three main components: the Aurea 5 R32 heat pump, the Hybrid Add-On control box, and the Anna thermostat. In this hybrid setup, the boiler and the heat pump are used efficiently for the aspects where each performs best. The boiler heats the home in the early morning (short, high energy demand), after which the heat pump takes over to maintain the temperature throughout the day (constant, low energy demand).
At outdoor temperatures above 4°C, the heat pump will provide comfortable warmth in your home. Your CO2 emissions and gas consumption are significantly reduced. Below 4°C or with a heat demand above 55°C, the gas boiler takes over to ensure comfort. The boiler also provides hot water for worry-free bathing and showering. With the smart Anna thermostat, you can perfectly adjust your hybrid system to your comfort needs.
