With an Atlantic Calypso heat pump boiler, energy-efficient use of hot water can be achieved. The integrated heat pump in the boiler extracts heat from the outside air and transfers it to the water in the boiler.
Good for the environment and your wallet
The Calypso VM proudly carries the energy label A+. The heat pump extracts 2/3 of the required energy from the surrounding air to heat the water to 50-52°C. Electricity is only needed to operate the pump. With a COP2 of 2.75 (type VM-100L) and 3.21 (type VM-150L), a Calypso generates about three times as much energy annually as it consumes!
Connection to PV (Solar Energy)
Due to the reduction in the Netherlands' balancing scheme, the heat pump boiler with optional connection to PV panels becomes an attractive solution. By connecting the PV system to the Calypso heat pump boiler, it becomes possible to store excess heat for free in the boiler tank. In this application, the heat pump boiler acts as a battery, where excess generated energy is stored. By using sustainable hot water generation through the combination of heat pump and PV system, significant savings are made on gas, in addition to electricity savings.
